What do you do at Joyride?

I'm a sales associate.  I find new offices to make happy.

Hometown?

Edison, NJ

What was your first memory of coffee?

When I was very little, my mom would drop me off at my grandparents on her way to work. Pop-Pop and I would hop in the car every morning to go to the Quick Chek deli. He always brought his reusable store logo mug. I loved the way the coffee aroma filled the air, and felt sad that I couldn't have some, too. To help me feel included in the daily ritual, he convinced me that it was customary for children to drink the little peel-back creamers. I like to think I am less gullible now.

Education?

I studied Psychology as an undergrad at University of Delaware, and I completed my masters study at NYU in Food Studies.

Have you worked in coffee before?

I switched from corporate to food/hospitality about five years ago. It was the best professional decision I could have made. I feel lucky to be surrounded by so many passionate people every day.

Pet Peeves?

It makes me crazy when people in NYC use giant umbrellas. Sidewalks are not golf courses, and it's only drizzling!

Favorite Book?

The Autobiography of Malcolm X was my favorite book ever assigned in school. Most recently, I was addicted to Gone Girl but the end disappointed me.

What kind of music do you listen to?

I like a lot of different music. Big band orchestra, Johnny Cash, Cake, or Justin Timberlake radio on Pandora would all make me pretty happy. I love live performance and local bands. Nude Beach from Long Island is a recent favorite.

How do you take your coffee?

Most of the time I drink it black--hot or cold brew. Sometimes I fancy a bit of milk. I don't sweeten.
