What is your role at Joyride?

Account Manager

What is your first coffee memory?

Even though I had been exposed to coffee long before, the first time I actually remember drinking it was when I felt I needed an extra giddy-up in high school after brutally early 5:30a.m. swim practices. The first cup came from a mediocre bagel chain that I loved at the time (I didn't know any better since I had not yet moved to NYC...). On a brutally snowy and cold winter morning, that first cup of joe was magical. And I was able to stay awake until lunch that day, which was 10:30a.m... because high school is weird like that.

Where did you go to high school or college? What did you study?

I graduated with a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have a double major in Communications Studies and International Studies.

Any relevant previous position?

Before coming to Joyride I was working for a bakery as a Wholesale Manager. I was surrounded by amazing bread and pastries all day and had the pleasure of meeting some amazing, talented chefs in the NYC food industry.

Pet Peeves?

When tourists walk 3+ people-wide along the sidewalk, stopping every 2 seconds to take pictures of pigeons, and there's no way to dodge and weave around them. Also, when people don't read the entire e-mail and ask the same question again.

Favorite Book?

Up until recently, 100 Year of Solitude. Then I read Captain Corelli's Mandolin, which may be my new fave.

What kind of music do you listen to?

I tend to gravitate towards bluegrass, indie folk, and singer-songwriter type music, but am open to listening to all new things, especially live. I also have great memories of Van Morrison, The Boss, and other old dudes that my dad used to listen to growing up.

How do you like your coffee?

As of recently, black. Now I can't go back.
